Readme for CBISA™ Version 5.0 (9/15/2013)

Version 5.0 of your CBISA™ software presents the program in a brand new operating format.  The new architecture of the software should enhance your user experience without significantly changing the basic "look and feel" of CBISA™, navigating through the modules, working with data, and previewing/printing reports.

Internet browser cache holds copies of recently accessed data in order to speed up viewing certain pages, pictures or graphics.  Therefore, to ensure that you are seeing the most recent version of all CBISA™ pages and forms, you must first clear your internet browser cache.  Failure to clear your cache prior to accessing CBISA™ Version 5.0 may cause significant errors and loss of functionality.

Also, please note that Lyon Software will clear the session data for all users.  The session data field on each user's record stores information about the active year they were in and the page they were working on the last time they properly logged out of CBISA™.  Therefore, upon logging in to CBISA™ 5.0, every user will find themselves in the year 2013 (the current calendar year) and on the Program/General page for their home reporting unit (the default page for the software).

Clearing your Cache

Internet Explorer

IE8: Tools>Internet Options>General tab (Browsing history section)>Delete. Ensure that both the 'Temporary Internet files' and ''Cookies' checkboxes are checked. Click the Delete button on this page. Close Tools dialog.
IE9: Tools (gear widget)>Safety>Delete browsing history. Ensure that both the 'Temporary Internet files' and ''Cookies' checkboxes are checked. Click the Delete button on this page. Close Tools dialog.
IE10: While on the CBISA™ login page>F12>Cache>Clear browser cache for this domain. Click the 'x' in the upper right of the F12 panel to hide it.
Safari
Safari PC: Click the circular gear icon in upper right corner >Reset Safari>Ensure that 'Clear history' and 'Remove all webpage preview images' checkboxes are checked.  Click  Reset.
Safari MAC: Select Safari >Reset Safari>Ensure that 'Clear history' and 'Remove all webpage preview images' checkboxes are checked.  Click Reset.
Chrome
Click on the icon in upper right that shows as 3 horizontal bars>History>Clear browsing Data. Ensure that both the 'Delete cookies and other…'  and 'Empty the cache' checkboxes  are selected. Choose 'items from the past nnnn' where nnnn is week, month, year for time frame, depending upon how recently you accessed CBISA™. Click on the 'clear browsing  data' button.
Firefox
Click on the orange Firefox tab in upper left of browser> History>Recent History. Choose 'Everything' for Time Range to Clear. Ensure that 'Cookies' and 'Cache' checkboxes are  checked. Click 'Clear Now'. Close dialog.

You may want to try "Ctrl+F5" first.  This may be sufficient to clear the cache.  However, if you are experiencing pages not rendering properly, unhandled exception errors, or trouble viewing edit dialog boxes, employ the proper method listed above.  Also, if you are accessing CBISA™ via a desktop icon, you may experience difficulties clearing the cache on your workstation because the icon may be "remembering" pages previously viewed.  Lyon Software recommends that you save your secure, unique URL as a browser "favorite" rather than a desktop icon.

Special Note for Internet Explorer 10
If you are using IE10, you had to turn on your "compatibility mode" for CBISA™.  However, for this new version, CBISA 5.0, you will need to make sure that "mode" is turned off.  While on the CBISA™ login page, press F12 and look at "Browser Mode" located on the tool bar.  If it says "Browser Mode:  IE10 Compatibility Version", click on it and select "Internet Explorer 10" from the available options.

Changes to CBISA Plus™ and CBISA Online™ for Healthcare

Changes Apply to All User Permission Levels
  • Inline Spell Checking:  For free-form text boxes, the spell check function has been changed.  Instead of activating spell checker after you have completed your text, you will notice a red underline on any word that the dictionary does not recognize.  You may right click with your mouse on any underlined word to select an alternative.  Depending on your browser, you may also be able to add words to the dictionary.
  • "After the fact" Undo:  In some cases CBISA™ will now allow you to undo an edit that has already been saved.  The undo functionality is only available immediately after the edit.  Once another action occurs, the chance for undo is lost.  You may also now "undo" a deleted record.  If you accidentally delete a record, you will notice that your undo function control button is activated.  Clicking on the undo button will retrieve your deleted record.  However, if you delete a record and then edit another record or navigate away from the current page, the undo function will no longer be available.
  • Enhanced "Back Button":  When navigating through sub menu pages of a module or from one module to another, the "back button" on your internet browser tool bar will return you to the previously accessed page or module.  If you are viewing Edit or Org Defaults, the "back button" will return you to the main data entry screen that is currently active.  For example, if you are on the Program/Target Audience page and you open Edit Defaults, clicking on the browser back button will return you to the Program/Target Audience page.
  • Deactivated Function Control Buttons:  CBISA™ Version 5.0 will disable any function control button that would not result in a useful action and will provide information on why certain buttons are deactivated.  For example, if a Program has occurrences attached, in previous versions of CBISA™ clicking on the "delete" button would generate an error "Could not delete Program, as it has x Occurrence(s)".  In Version 5.0, the delete button is inactive (grayed out) and hovering over the button presents the message "This Program has Occurrences", or the reason why the button is not activated.
  • Relationship Manager:  To access the Relationship Manager, you will no longer click on a link located on the control panel.  The Relationship Manager is now accessed via the "More" function control button.  Float your mouse over the "More" button and select the option to "Manage Relationships".  (Please note:  If your permission level does not allow you to make changes to the Relationship Manager, your option will read "View Relationships".)  The Relationship Manager "Overview" tab will provide a summary (numerical count) of each type of record linked (or related to) the selected record.  The "Detail" tab allows users to edit relationships and to show specifically which records have and have not been linked.
  • Improved Program Category Selection:  The Program Category dropdown selection presents as a dropdown field on existing and newly created Program records.  It is no longer necessary to float your mouse over the category field to see the dropdown access.  Also, upon opening the Category dropdown, you will first see all of the main category groups (delivered and customized).  In order to select a category, simply hover over the appropriate category group and the categories will be properly displayed.  For any sub-categories, float your mouse over the category and the appropriate sub-categories will be displayed.  The function of selecting the proper category group, category or sub-category remains the same:  simply "point and click" to choose.
  • Changing the Active Year:  The ability to change the active year has been added to the Occurrence form.  While viewing an Occurrence, you may now access the active year dropdown (upper right hand corner of the page) and select any available year.  Reporters remember:  (1) You may not save an Occurrence record with a date outside the scope of the current active year, and (2) You will only see Occurrence records in the browse box for the current active year and one year prior.
  • Changing the Active Reporting Unit:  The ability to change the active reporting unit has been added to the Occurrence form.  If you are a "multi" user and have access to more than one reporting unit, you are able to change the active reporting unit while you are viewing an Occurrence form.  However, upon changing the active reporting unit, the software will take you to a Program/General page in the destination facility.

    Specifically for Administrators/Coordinators
  • Sort Order Modifications:  While accessing the filtering option (More/Show Filters), some pages will now allow you to change the sort order in the browse box.  For the Programs module, you may sort your programs by "Title" or "Tracked Since" date.  If you have opted to have Lyon Software pre-populate your program module with a standard list, all Programs will have a "tracked since" date of 2005.  For the Narrative modules, stories may be sorted by "Date", "Descending Date", or "Description".
  • Additional Program Filter:  "IRS Reportable" has been added as a filter option for the Program module.
  • Selecting the Active Fiscal Year:  You may now change the active fiscal year while you are viewing/editing the Financial Default page for a Reporting Unit in Org Defaults.  Upon closing Org Defaults, the active year reverts to its previous state.  For example, if you are viewing records in 2013 and then access the Financial Defaults page in Org Defaults and select to work or view defaults in 2012, you will be returned to the original year of 2013 upon exiting Org Defaults.
  • Additional Option for Importing Pending Records:  If a pending Program contains pending Occurrences, not only will you be given the option to import the program and all pending occurrences, but now you will have the option to import ONLY the Program record.  Please note:  If you choose to import the Program and all attached Occurrence records, you will NOT be notified if any of the Occurrences are unpublished.

    For System Administrators Only
  • Logging Notification:  For the System Administrator permission level, some logging for edits to data records has been added.  The log will include the date a record was edited and the ID of the user who made the change.  To view edits or changes made to a data record, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the resize handle to open the logging activity panel.  Logging may be limited on records added prior to CBISA™ Version 5.0 and is not currently available on any of the default screens.  Therefore, logging may be limited or incomplete in some instances.  And, since the log is housed on the data record, if the record has been deleted, there will not be a record of who deleted it and the historical log will be removed.  However, an "after the fact" undo will retrieve the deleted record and its historical log.
